Samia Zaman is currently a Lecturer in the Department of International Relations at the University of Dhaka. Samia graduated with BSS and MSS degrees from the Department of International Relations at the University of Dhaka. She received a Gold Medal from the President of Bangladesh in recognition of her academic excellence. Before joining the academia, she worked with one of the leading think tanks of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS). Her research and teaching interests include environmental politics, energy security, maritime affairs, gender in International Relations, and economic diplomacy. She has several publications in these fields. Her latest publication was published in Environmental Politics Journal.
